Next Fear Chapter: Resident Evil 9 Launches Early

Resident Evil 9 may be launched in 2019 and confirmed soon.

Resident Evil 9-New

Last week, it was revealed that the highly anticipated next Capcom game had been internally postponed and may be released before it. Famous Capcom leaker Dusk Golem posted this on The Snitch's Discord.

After a week, Dusk Golet retracts his delay claim. The leaker learned Capcom will release the game in January 2025. Capcom will reveal the game soon; it's due out in six months.

The leaker says, “I have good news/rumors to deliver on Resident Evil 9“ on X. I could overlook the rumoured delay. RE9 should be released and made next year. According to my information, January should arrive. It will be almost seven years in development.”

Game creator Dusk Golem said, “January 2025 was a timeframe I'd heard they were still aiming for, but you never knew.”

Resident Evil 9 Rumits

Following are some posts from the leaker from today:

Reports say Resident Evil 9 is being developed since 2018. The game may have an open-world like Dragon's Dogma 2, according to reports.

Even though Dusk Golem may be off, it's an intriguing Resident Evil 9 update. We'll update you on the future Resident Evil game.

Your thoughts on Resident Evil 9. Will it be exposed in the coming months? When will it be released? Comment below.

In 2021, Capcom released Resident Evil Village, their latest big new Resident Evil game, which received positive reviews. Resident Evil Village is a wild, thrilling ride through practically every horror type and idea Capcom has ever had. The game's grisly patchwork is held together by strong core gameplay and stunning graphics. Though you may exit Resident Evil Village, your mind will stay there for a long time.”

CAPCOM leaker Dusk Golem claims Monster Hunter Wilds and Resident Evil 9 would have open worlds like Dragon's Dogma 2. Dusk Golem tweeted the following:

Please note that CAPCOM often authorises new projects in groups of three or less. To use their new RE Engine, try RE7, RE:2, and DMCV. The idea to remake RE:2 inspired them to remake RE:3 and RE:4. Resident Evil 9 and Monster Hunter Wilds also use Dragon's Dogma 2's open-world RE Engine enhancements.

The top horror franchise from CAPCOM would take a risk if the claim is true. Monster Hunter Wilds' open environment may be the series' logical development, but Resident Evil's is not. Except for The Forest and its subsequent sequel Sons of the Forest, open-world horror games are not popular. Open world strategies may weaken the terrifying atmosphere that developers have relied on to maximise their games.

However, Dusk Golem told fans that Resident Evil 9 and Monster Hunter Wilds will retain their DNA, like Dragon's Dogma 2. Since DD2 followed the original game's formula, I hope the developers are more creative. This could feel like a reset rather than a sequel.

Evil 9 characters

Since Resident Evil 9 is in production, its characters are unknown. Rumours, leaks, and Resident Evil Village's ending suggest:

Returning Characters: Ethan Winters- Village and Resident Evil 7's protagonist. After the puzzling Village DLC “Shadows of Rose,” Ethan may return with a twist.
“Shadows of Rose” DLC heroine Rose Winters is Ethan's daughter. Her unique skills and relationship with moulds may make her an important RE9 character.
Resident Evil famously features Chris Redfield. Despite his more nuanced reasoning, he may reappear in RE9 and be tied to Rose or the new threat.
Possible guests: Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and Jill Valentine.
Novel Characters: RE9 should offer fresh protagonists and villains since the franchise always does.

Resident Evil 9 release date

We'll evaluate both games' current knowledge anyway. Monster Hunter Wilds was announced for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X in 2025 during the December The Game Awards. More info will be published this summer.

Resident Evil 9 News

Not quite official: Resident Evil 9. Given Village's success, it might be. According to Dusk Golem, the game has been under production since 2018, the longest in the franchise.

In anticipation of CAPCOM's landmark 2025, the game will be published the following year with Monster Hunter 2. The leaker said Resident Evil 7's story arc would be completed even though it won't be a sequel to Village. Next part would have a new plot.
