Adobe Substance 3D Viewer App Released by NVIDIA Studio Driver

Features Accelerated by RTX Powered by Adobe AI, Quicken Content Creation.

The Adobe MAX creative conference begins with updates to Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, the October release of the NVIDIA Studio Driver, and the introduction of the Adobe Substance 3D Viewer app.

At this week's Adobe MAX innovation conference, Adobe unveiled updates to its Adobe Creative Cloud products, including Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as Substance 3D tools and the Adobe video ecosystem.

Whether these applications run locally on RTX AI PCs and workstations or in the cloud, they are accelerated by NVIDIA RTX and GeForce RTX GPUs.

One of the most anticipated features of Premiere Pro (beta) is Generative Extend, which uses generative AI to seamlessly add frames to the beginning or conclusion of a clip. Because the Firefly Video Model is only trained on video that Adobe has approved and is made to be commercially safe, artists may work with confidence using it.

Firefly by Adobe

The Adobe Substance 3D Collection products include a variety of RTX-accelerated methods for producing 3D content, such as ray tracing, AI delighting and upscaling, and image-to-material processes made possible by Adobe Firefly.

By allowing design teams to access, view, and utilize 3D files, Substance 3D Viewer, which is entering open beta at Adobe MAX, aims to integrate 3D into 2D design processes. This will improve compatibility with Photoshop and other Adobe programs that employ RTX acceleration.

Adobe Firefly connectors have also been added to Substance 3D Collection applications to enhance the creation of 3D content with generative AI. These consist of Substance 3D Sampler's Text to Texture, Text to Pattern, and Image to Texture tools, as well as Substance 3D Stager's Generative Background feature.

The October NVIDIA Studio Driver will be available for download tomorrow, with the goal of enhancing creative apps. For easy access to programs like NVIDIA Broadcast and automated Studio Driver notifications, download the NVIDIA app beta.

The Development of Video Editing

Video editing has been transformed during the past four years by Adobe Premiere Pro's features like Auto Reframe and Scene Edit Detection.

With the recently announced GPU-accelerated Enhance Speech, AI Audio Category Tagging, and Filler Word Detection tools, editors may now use AI to intelligently cut and modify video sequences.

A limited beta of the Adobe Firefly Video Model is currently available from Firefly. The launch of generative AI by Adobe.com represents the next advancement in video editing. With the help of basic text instructions or images, users can create and edit video segments to fill in content gaps without having to reshoot, lengthen, or reframe shots. It can also be used to create video clip prototypes that will act as inspiration for future shootings.

Topaz Labs has developed a new plug-in for Adobe After Effects, a video editing program that uses AI models to improve video quality. Motion deblur and enhancement models are now available to users for clearer, higher-quality videos. On the GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU, RTX-accelerated models operate 2.5 times faster than the MacBook Pro M3 Max.

Keep an eye out for upcoming NVIDIA TensorRT developments in After Effects and Topaz Video AI effects.

3D Super Powered

The Substance 3D Collection is revolutionizing the ideation stage of 3D production with its powerful generative AI capabilities in Substance 3D Sampler and Stager.

The Text to Texture, Text to Pattern, and Image to Texture tools in Sampler, which are compatible with Adobe Firefly, enable designers to quickly create reference images from basic instructions that may be utilized to create parametric materials.

Using Stager's Generative Background feature, which generates images based on text descriptions, designers can experiment with backdrops for staging 3D models. Stager's ability to match lighting and camera viewpoint allows designers to iterate and mock up concepts more quickly, exploring more options.

Additionally, Substance 3D Viewer is compatible with Photoshop, allowing 3D models to be imported into Photoshop projects and having Viewer edits automatically reflected in the final product. The GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU produces 80% more frames per second than the MacBook M3 Pro by utilizing ray tracing and hardware acceleration. This makes it possible for the viewport to move fluidly.

Furthermore, by fusing text prompts with 3D objects, Substance 3D Viewer offers new Firefly-powered features like Text to 3D and 3D Model to Image that give artists more creative control over producing new settings and variations.

The latest version of After Effects has more 3D features that let artists combine 3D animations, isolate effects in 3D space, and create realistic shadows on 2D objects.

An RTX GPU-powered Advanced 3D Renderer is a new feature in After Effects that expedites the time-consuming and tedious HDRI lighting addition process. This reduces creative barriers to access and enhances content reality. Compared to earlier iterations, RTX 4090 GPUs render 30% quicker.

Artists can enhance 3D graphics using more than 20,000 parametric 3D materials, IBL environment lighting, 3D models, and fine texturing thanks to Substance 3D's native and quick 3D integration with After Effects.
