Introducing the Intel 800-Series Chipset's New Kingston CUDIMM Modules
Overview
Kingston Technology Europe Co LLP, a subsidiary of Kingston Technology Company, a worldwide memory and technology pioneer, has announced that the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 CUDIMMs, compatible with Intel's new 800-series chipset (previously codenamed Arrow Lake), would be available shortly. Intel's 800-series chipset was the first to use clock drivers on CUDIMMs (Clocked Unbuffered Dual Inline Memory Modules). UDIMMs and SODIMMs must contain a Client Clock Driver (CKD) at 6400MT/s DDR5, per JEDEC regulations. By buffering and re-driving the clock signal from the CPU, this component enhances the signal integrity to the module. To differentiate these upgraded modules from DDR5 UDIMMs and SODIMMs, JEDEC calls them CUDIMMs and CSODIMMs.In 24GB single modules and 48GB twin channel kits, overclocked Kingston FURY Renegade RGB and non-RGB CUDIMM modules begin at 8400MT/s. Because Kingston FURY UDIMMs with XMP and EXPO profiles share a 288-pin connection with CUDIMMs, they may also be used with motherboards from the Intel 800-series. Therefore, it is recommended to verify compatibility by consulting the motherboard manufacturer's QVL (Qualified Vendor List) or by searching for compatible speeds and capacities in the Kingston Configurator.
