Radeon PRO V710 from AMD
AMD's Radeon PRO V710 is currently accessible on Microsoft Azure. Today saw the unveiling of AMD's newest visual cloud GPU, the Radeon PRO V710. The Radeon PRO V710, which is currently available on Microsoft Azure in private preview, brings new capabilities to the public cloud. The AMD Radeon PRO V710's 54 Compute Units, along with its 28GB VRAM, 448 GB/s memory transfer rate, and 54MB of L3 AMD Infinity Cache technology, enable light to medium ML inference workloads and small model training when used with the open-source AMD ROCm software.
Instances based on the Radeon PRO V710 may offer robust isolation between various virtual machines running on the same physical GPU as well as between the host and guest environments when paired with support for PCI Express SR-IOV compliant hardware virtualization. The efficient RDNA 3 design provides excellent performance per watt and enables a single slot, passively cooled package factor that meets PCIe CEM requirements.
Modern PC games can run smoothly with sophisticated visual effects enabled because to AMD's superior ray tracing performance over AMD RDNA 2 and Infinity Cache technology. Hardware video encoders support AVC (H.264), HEVC (H.265), and AV1 for streaming. Support for AMD's open-source ROCm software and AI accelerators for efficient matrix multiplication increase the computational speed of machine learning.
The Radeon PRO V710 is a great choice for cloud gaming, AI/ML use cases, desktop-as-a-service, and workstation-as-a-service.
Microsoft Azure will offer a range of instances designed for different GPU-accelerated applications, based on the Radeon PRO V710. The Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) will facilitate the deployment of container-based workflows by supporting operating systems other than Windows and Linux, including V710-based Linux virtual machines.

V710 V5-series NVads
The NVads V710 v5 series virtual machines are powered by AMD Radeon Pro V710 GPUs and AMD EPYC 9374F (Genoa) CPUs, which have a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and an all-core max frequency of 4.3 GHz. AMD's Simultaneous Multithreading technology allows virtual machines (VMs) to assign distinct vCPU threads to each VM. Both Windows and Linux virtual machines are supported.
The series offers five different configurations, from a full V710 GPU with a 24-GiB frame buffer to a 1/6 GPU with a 4-GiB frame buffer. There is no requirement for an additional GPU license in order to use AMD GPU-based virtual machines. The NVads V710 v5 virtual machines also enable NVMe for temporary local storage.
The NVads V710 v5-series enables right-sizing for demanding GPU-accelerated graphics apps and cloud-based virtual desktops, offering a seamless end user experience and an affordable choice for a wide range of graphics-enabled virtual desktop experiences. Furthermore, the virtual machines (VMs) are specialized for complex graphics rendering and streaming, and their scale offers great, captivating cloud gaming experiences.
The NVads V710 v5-series virtual machines can also perform small to medium AI/ML inference workloads, such as recommendation systems, sematic indexing, and SLMs, by leveraging the computational IP blocks in the Radeon Pro V710 GPUs.
